Explicit Geeky Stuff Guaranteed!

You need NOT be a nerd to learn about new technology; starting today find everything new-tech in a crisp and delicious avatar.

Presenting TECH-i-LICIOUS, Everything Geeky Yet Fab.

What’s making News!

Samsung-Google latest child, Nexus S, named after Google’s premarital miscarriage Nexus One. Xbox gets the much awaited motion gaming upgrade. Galaxy Tab and iPad fist fight. Plus a quick recap of the ten most powerful tweets of 2010.

But before this, let’s face the truth. IBM is among the top 3 employers for Social Media professionals, as per a study done by Mashable. IBM claims to have the largest corporate network of employees using social media, with more than 200,000 employees on LinkedIn, the same amount on Facebook and 70,000 members of its in-house social network “SocialBlue.”

Company wide, IBM encourages the use of social media and says it has invested “heavily” in social media tools to help employees collaborate more effectively. In order to help employees understand what is expected of them in the social space, IBM first published its “IBM Social Computing Guidelines” in 2005 and since then the guidelines have been revised by employees three times. Google Nexus S

Google has turned to Samsung for the next generation of Nexus device, this time known as the Google Nexus S. The “S” heritage plays it straight down the line as an evolution of the Samsung Galaxy S. Nexus S is the first smartphone to have the 2.3 version of Android named Gingerbread. Gingerbread is the fastest version of Android yet, and it delivers a number of improvements, such as user interface refinements, a new keyboard and text selection tool, Internet calling etc.

Xbox Kinect

Microsoft Xbox finally gets the much awaited motion gaming functionality and it certainly looks the best among all. The first and only gaming station that actively integrates both voice, a camera and full-body sensing into games and the core Xbox experience. Gesture navigation consists of moving your hand in time with the cursor, holding it in place while a selection confirms. It works, and is fairly accurate; with the only downside being things take longer than with a controller. Voice, on the other hand, works almost flawlessly, even if you're limited in things you can do with it because you're just saying words that are on screen. It's accurate, even mid-movie, thanks to its directional mikes. If I had to choose between gestures and voice, I'd choose voice when possible. And guess what you need not dump your existing Xbox 360 or the previous version; just upgrade it to Kinect with a price under INR 10k.

A Husband's nightmare

A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still
in their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and
wrappers strewn all around the front yard. The door of his wife's car
was open, as was the front door to the house and there was no sign of
the dog.

Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess.

A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against
one wall. In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a cartoon
channel, and the family room was strewn with toys and various items
of clothing. In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food
was spilled on the counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog food
was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a
small pile of sand was spread by the back door.

He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of
clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried
she may be ill, or that something serious had happened.

He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the
bath room door. As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap
and more toys strewn over the floor. Miles of toilet paper lay in a
heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls.

As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the
bed in her pajamas, reading a novel. She looked up at him, smiled, and
asked how his day went.

He looked at her bewildered and asked, "What happened here today?"

She again smiled and answered, "You know every day when you come home
from work and you ask me what in the world did I do today?"

"Yes," was his incredulous reply.

Is cupid safe?

WHILE the entire world had been busy tossing the ball of blame on terrorism from one country to the other, we see a new class of terrorism breeding right in our own backyard. The targeted hotel and tourism industry hasn’t yet been able to do away with the blood stains of 26/11; and while Dalal Street is still sinking down and deeper due to so called ‘economic meltdown’; we as democratic Indians are witnessing the most shameful play of moral policing, starring the hooligans as lawmakers, aam public as victim and of course the politicians as the directors of the play. Bangalore, the pub city of India suddenly woke up to moral essaying from one of the leaders of these radicals, upon whose direction the girls were being assaulted at a pub in Mangalore earlier this month. The self-appointed custodian of the Hindu culture and his sena of hindu radicals are on the mission to destroy the global image of the country. We are still not being able to cope up with the sins of Satyam and what we see now is another jolt to the state of the nation.

The newest agenda in sena’s list is to ban Valentine Day as it is against the culture of India, according to it. The monster-in-chief, of sena has its own story to link it with the V-day, “It destroys the family structure”. “The West has short-term relationships and that is why they need a specific day to celebrate love. We should not follow Western culture. In India, marriages are for a lifetime and love for your partner is a never-ending affair. And it should be shown in your home”

The sleepy government finally woke up today and if they were to believe “Cupid is safe”

lonesome moments

Staying up at nights have become one of my forte' these days. As if I just need an excuse to practice this habit. Thanks to the 24x7 working hour shifts.

I was still glued to WS receiver, it's playing, 'Where is the love - Elephunk’. Very unusual song of Black eyed peas, but actually they're good at it, though it's just another hip-hop number, but it's wrapped in a little meaningful lyrics. Ever wondered how they had sung a serious issue of terrorism and dreadful killing of people... Should I really think this much, it's just another song?

It was close to 2 am, and I was indulged in a Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey hook-up/break-up grapevine section on People.com... The download of napster player, which had been running for the last 4 hrs was nearing it’s completion. Phew! It says just 6 mins 38 secs more.

I have been staying in Bangalore for over a year, but still I could not get acquainted with the weather of this city. It had rained 4 times since evening, but according to the met. department Monsoon is still no way near. And here it goes again...

The download was over. I was just preparing myself to fiddle around with this new player, and guess what, 'ERROR OCCURED while opening the file'.

I am gonna escape from here now, where is my pillow?

Another Day oops! Night at office...

Although, it's my first blog and am pretty excited to write it, but if I'll start calculating the number of hours per day, I spend in front of this New Age Idiot Box, certainly I would be fainted. My work does not make me bored but I just want to reduce the limit by a little, so that I can enjoy the hours which I live for myself.

I hope I'll improve my writing capacity in the next post (my favorite excuse to slip in to this warm blanket)
